  • Lalguan Mahadev Temple Overview

Lalguan Mahadev Temple of Western Group is located on the bank of Lalguan Sagar Lake and west of Chausath Yogini Temple. It is the least visited and the most remote temple in the western group. This is a Shiva temple similar in structure as the Brahma temple in eastern group. Almost broken doorway has nothing to describe, porch is missing; only the sanctum is left consisting of a Lingam and the outside sanctum a statue of Nandi facing the sanctum. Archeologists say that this temple should have been constructed during transition period when the use of sandstone had been introduced but the use of granite not stopped. Tourists use a non authentic path from Chausath Yogini Temple to the Lalguan Mahadev Temple.
