Lakshmi Temple
Lakshmi Temple is a small but beautiful temple...
Chopra Tank is an important monument being ignored by most of the visitors as well as the local guides of the area, perhaps due to its location outside the western group of temple complex. Most of the tourists take interest in sculptured and decorated temples and guides do know more about them. This important monument lies only 200 meters away from Chitragupta Temple on Lalguan road. The Chopra tank is a three storied step well built in eleventh century by Chandela King. The beautiful tank is now in ruined condition seems to be an orphan detached from its glamorous counterparts. Being very close to only Sun-Temple, the Chitragupta temple, it should have been respected and deserve to be identified as an important monument but unfortunately it is being neglected. Legends say that the water of this tank had been used by the locals and far off peoples to get rid of many complications; the tank was famous for its healing properties. The architecture of the tank is amazing as the engineers say the measurements and the calculations of the steps in the tank are quite perfect, as if the architects were equipped with modern tools and well skilled in technology.
