Mani Parvat is a small hillock situated in Kamiganj, Ayodhya Dham. It is one of the popular visitors’ attractions in Ayodhya Dham, because an interesting story is associated with the place. According to Ramayana once Hanuman uprooted an entire mountain from Himalayan range containing the rejuvenating Sanjeevani-Booti to treat Lakshman who was wounded and senseless during the battle of Lanka. It is believed that a part of that very mountain fell at a place in Ayodhya which was later called Mani Parvat. Listed among the most revered places in significance to Lord Ram, Mani Parvat is home to numerous shrines, some Buddhist shrines also, it is believed that Lord Buddha stayed here for few days and preached to his disciples. Here is a Buddhist stupa built by Emperor Ashoka. One can get a spectacular view of the city of Ayodhya and the surrounding area from the top of the hillock.
