Mehtab Bagh is one of the many Mughal Gardens in a Charbagh style located in Agra just north to beautiful Taj Mahal. Mehtab Bagh provides a perfect view of Taj Mahal from the fountain at the front of the entrance gate. It is a famous sunset point popular among the visitors. It is said that Shah Jahan has designed the garden for his personal interest so as he could come up here and admire the beauty of Taj Mahal. The garden has become more vibrant with floral plants and medicinal herbs. Mehtab Bagh reflects typical Mughal style of architecture with four square shaped garden layout each having area 9 hectares. The garden compound is constructed with red sandstone and four octagonal domed towers in the four corners. Here is a big octagonal pond in the southern end which displays the reflection of Taj Mahal in it.
Timings: 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Entry Fee: Rs 30 for Indian and SAARC/BIMSTEC citizens and Rs 200 for foreigners. Children below 15 years have Free Entry.
