Salim Chisti was a Sufi saint who had forecasted the birth of Akbar’s successor Jahangir, so Akbar built the tomb of Salim Chisti at his burial place as a mark of respect for him. The main building of the tomb is enclosed by marble screens from all sides, the door of the chamber is carved with beautiful patterns, the floor is made with marble and many colorful stones and the canopy of Salim Chisti lies in the center of the chamber. Tourists and visitors like to see the beautiful tomb during their trip to Fatehpur Sikri.
