Pachisi Court or the Chaupar Court is a building made of red sandstone having a sitting thrown for Akbar and many more chair like structures for ministers and generals of his army. It was used for Pachisi or Chaupar playing and Chess court having big blocks of chess on the floor. Visitors are being told that it was used for amusement playing Pachisi, Chaupar and chess, but historians say that Akbar used this court to test the fitness and capability of his soldiers by the game of chess and Chaupar. Instead of symbolic tokens original soldiers were made to stand in the court and ordered to move on emperor’s demand. This was a game and means of amusement for spectators but a test for soldiers.
