    Ramkot Temple Ayodhya

Perched atop a hill, Ramkot temple is the chief place of worship in Ayodhya Dham for the devotees who have belief that Ram used to play here with his brothers and Hanuman in their childhood. An ancient citadel, it lies on an elevated platform and as per popular belief, marks the site Lord Ram’s feet. Thousands of devotees visit the temple throughout the year but the number becomes double/triple in March and April when Ramnawami is celebrated here. The celebration lasts for a month or more in which many cultural programmes, many literature based activities and a big fair is being organized by local residents and administration. The temple offers a sweeping panoramic view of the entire city, including a bird’s eye view of its marvelous temples and scenic ghats. Legend has it that this citadel was guarded by Lord Hanuman from a secret cave.
