Treta ke Thakur or Treta Nath Temple is a Hindu temple situated at Naya Ghat of Sarayu River in Ayodhya Dham. It is very popular among the pilgrims and visitors as one of the oldest temples at Sarayu Ghat. Treta ke Thakur temple is dedicated to Lord Ram who is referred to as the Lord of the Tretayug. The temple was built by the king of Kullu in 17 th century and renovated by Maratha queen Ahilyabai Holkar in 18 th century. The Treta ke Thakur Temple is an excellent piece of north Indian Nagar style Hindu temple architecture that has conventional Shikhars mounted with golden metal pitchers and saffron flags. The temple houses the idols of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, Shatrughna, Hanuman and sage Vashishtha. These statues are being sculpted out of a single black stone rock. The temple holds immense religious significance as it was here that Lord Ram had the Ashwamedh Yagnas to celebrate his unanimous Kingdome.
