Though Vyas Chhatri is cremation place yet very attractive and popular among the visitors. It had been named after Sage Veda Vyas the writer of epic poem Mahabharat. King of Jaisalmer had recommended the place as the cremation ground for Brahmins and hence became the memorials for prominent Brahmins of the state kingdom. The cenotaphs here are the most fabulous structures in Jaisalmer. The yellow sandstone cenotaphs are built on raised platforms, with intricately designed chhatris on top of finely chiseled pillars. They are striking example of typical Rajputana architecture built on hills. Glorious Golden Fort can be seen from here and the sunset views from here are fascinating enough.
