    Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir

Most awaited, nearly 500 years, Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir came into existence on 22 January 2024, when formally inaugurated by our PM Narendra Modi Ji at the birth place of Lord Ram in Ayodhya. This temple is a symbol of national pride, making the revival of cultural heritage of Bharat, preservation of ancient traditions and values and also a positive approach towards the economic development of Ayodhya. The temple is being constructed in Hindu Temple Architecture, Nagara style. The original design of Ram Mandir was devised in 1988 by Sompura family of Ahmadabad, Gujarat who has designed more than 100 temples including Somnath Temple. A new design with few changes in the old design was prepared by Sompuras in 2020, strictly according to Vastu and Shilpa in Hindu texts. The temple authority has been allotted land having area 67 acres but the temple  is being constructed in an area of 10 acres and remaining 57 acres of the land has been developed as a complex with a prayer hall, a lecture hall, an educational institution, a museum, a cafeteria, residential complex for visitors and Langar for visitors. Main structure of the temple has dimensions 120 m long, 76 m wide and 49 m high, externally made of Baansi (Rajasthan) pink sandstone and internally made of Makrana (Rajasthan) marble. It is the third largest Hindu temple in the world. The main structure of the temple consists of three storeys each of height about 20 feet. Ground floor, the sanctum sanctorum i.e. Garbhagriha consists of the idol of Lord Ram in childhood; the idol is made of black stone and decorated with gold jewellery. First floor will be Ram Durbar consisting of the idols of Ram, Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, Shatrughna, and Hanuman etc. Shri Ram Durbar on the first floor comprises five halls namely- Nritya Mandap, Rang Mandap, Sabha Mandap, Prarthana Mandap and Kirtan Mandap all decorated with Nagra style Shikhars. Adorned with deity statues, the temple includes dedicated Mandir of Surya, Bhagwati, Ganesh and Shiv at the corners. Annapurna and Hanuman temples are on the northern and southern arms.  Second floor will be the Shikhars made up of gold plated stone and saffron flags of Sanatan Dharma. The entire structure has been built on a raised platform 14 m thick roller-compacted concrete layer with 6.5 m granite plinth. The temple has a total of 366 columns having 16 idols each including incarnations of Lord Shiva, Dasavatars of Lord Vishnu, 64 Yoginis and 12 incarnations of goddess Saraswati. Art of the idols and the pillars, crafts at the doors and the walls, designs of the ceilings and the floors all are fascinating enough, can’t be expressed in the words.  Accessibility is ensured with ramps, lifts and facilities for senior citizen and physically weak people.

Timings: Visitors are allowed from 6:00 am to 11:00am, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. More than 100,000 people are visiting Ram Mandir per day.
