Sugreev Killa
Sugreev Killa or Sugreev Fort is situated just beside the Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir, it is very historical and mythical place as legends say. This ancient fort was built in Tretayug by Maharaja Bharat to welcome Ram after the victory of Lanka Battle. Bharat did so but Ram gifted the palace cum fort to Sugreev to stay in Ayodhya. Since then the famous palace has been known as Sugreev Fort, and today the mythology of this place is still recorded in the Department of Archeology. It is also mentioned in the records of ASI that this fort was renovated by Maharaja Vikramaditya during the restoration of Ayodhya. There is a temple inside the palace where maharaja Sugreev used to worship Lord Ram and Goddess Sita. Tourists have many things in this fort to admire like the architecture, wealth, decoration and management.
