Adinath Temple
Adinath Mandir is another Jain temple built in...
Nandi Temple is located just in front of the Vishwanath temple in the western group. The building years of the two temples are almost same and both the temples were built by Chandela King Dhanga. The temple stands on a raised platform and has a huge statue of Nandi carved from a single stone rock. A great amount of detailing done on the primary deity with special attention given to its ornaments around the neck has become the chief attraction among the visitors. Architectural design of this temple is Shikhar Style of architecture, the temple has been built on a rectangular platform, forming a cross quadrate structure. The Nandi Temple Khajuraho is a beautiful pillared monument covered with detailed carvings from top to bottom. The temple has no walls so the primary deity Nandi can be observed from all four sides. The colossal statue of Nandi sits over a platform is perfectly aligned with the Shiva Lingam inside the Vishwanath Temple. Nandi temple is heavily decorated with beautifully carved images of animals, human beings, apsaras, couples in various love postures etc. The platform has carved statues of elephants which create an illusion that the animals are carrying the entire monument on their back. Erotic sculptures of couples are also here but on the outer walls close to roof. The sculpture of Shiva holding trident on one shoulder and snakes on the other is really beautiful to stare on.
