Ganga Arti is a daily celebrating festival in Varanasi; a group of priests perform Ganga Arti in evening at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Agni pooja is being performed by Arti making a commitment to Agni Dev, Mata Ganga and Lord Shiva by the song sung and the Shlokas being chanted. It is a magnificent event for Tourists especially foreign tourists to experience the religious importance of River Ganga. All the priests performing the rituals of the Arti wear same cloths; the yellow dhoti and cream colored Kurta which is tightly bind with a long towel. Five elevated planks, a multi tired oil lamp, flowers, incense sticks, a conch shell, a big and heavy brass lamp having a snake hood at the edge of River Ganga are arranged before commencement of Arti processes. Rituals of the Ganga Arti are being performed by the students of Vedas and Upanishads which is lead by the head priest of Ganga Seva Samiti. Arti starts at 6:45 pm and takes around 45 minutes to complete. After starting Arti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, the same Arti are being done at other Ghats also.
