Javari Temple is a tenth century Hindu Mandir located in the Eastern part of Khajuraho Group of Monuments. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva but the main idol is broken and headless. It has well proportioned architecture, with a sanctum, vestibule, mahamandap and portico, but without a pradakshina-path. It has a remarkable ‘Makar- Torans’, a Capricorn Arch, and shikhar. It has two bands of carved sculptures on the outer walls, containing graceful women, flying couples, dancing girls and so on. The entrance gate of the sanctum has sculptures depicting nav-graha on the top. Along with nav-graha sculptures there are sculptures of Hindu deity Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
